Amanda Brugel
(February 27th of 2010 to Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a sleepy community on that part of the island of Montreal known as"the West Island. The West Island can be confusing for those who aren't familiar of its purpose. Many people believe that it's an island to the to the west of Montreal However, it's actually the West Island encompasses everything between the cities of Lachine and West. Many times, it is credited as the location of birth of Amanda Brugel but while that is true, her stay there was not long. Brugel grew on Courtice close to Oshawa in Ontario. She aspired to be a professional dancer but due to a rapid expansion, she surpassed all of her dancing partners. In an article published by The Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall, even when she wears heels. After I surpassed my male counterparts, that's when I gave up. Numerous former dancers choose to become actors. For Brugel it was because of the advice of her drama teacher in high school who pushed her in the direction she needed. The teacher encouraged her to audition for a part in the school's production. She auditioned and was eventually cast as the lead for the role in Anne of Green Gables. This led to her being awarded an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship from York University. In 2000, she received her Master of Fine Arts at York University. In the past 20 years, Brugel's work been seen on both the small and large screen. Her work gained most fame when she was offered the role as Rita in the acclaimed television series The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel made an appearance on only a handful of instances in the initial season of the show The Handmaid's Tale. She was the sole Canadian participant.
