Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is a Brit-American sitarist as well as a music producer. She was the very first and youngest female to receive an award from the British House of Commons Award. Anoushka Sitar Shankar was an Indian young sitar singer. She is both the daughter and student of Ravi Shankar. She was born London in 1982. During during her early years, she swam in London New Delhi. Her first performance took place in New Delhi when she was only 13 years old. Later she moved in Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Her career as a recorder and performer is impressive, despite her age. Her father has been with her on numerous occasions for many years. In 1998 she released her first solo album Anourag. It was followed by Live at Carnegie Hall, a Grammy-nominated album a year following. As she's appeared on every major stage in the world, her performance career has been expansive. Anoushka Shakar's talents are not restricted to just music. Bapi the love of My Live, a biography of a picture that was dedicating to her dad Ravi Shankar was published in 2002. In 2003, she starred on Dance Like a Man as the Bharat Natyam artist. Anoushka is still progressing in her professional career, and we can expect many other things to be expected from this talented woman. Anoushka spent a lot of her time in London and Delhi throughout her childhood. Later, she moved to California for high school. At the age of nine, she began studying music under her father, who made her debut with the sitar four years later, at the celebration of his 75th birthday in Delhi. The father of Anoushka travelled across the world with her and she gained many experience. As she was at her teens, Anoushka performed at Carnegie Hall in Peter Gabriel's WOMAD concert. In recognition of being a leading musician of Asian Arts, she was given the House of Commons Shield by British parliament.
